Heres a complete guide on how to stream to Youtube with lots of pictures and crimson numbered arrows pointing at things.
I. Setting upward the Youtube stream event.
- 1. You need to be a youtube partner to stream, then go get partnered, its pretty piece of cake nowadays.
2. Go into you Channel Settings>Features to request Live Events(that'southward livestreaming)
3. After you go approved. You go a new tab under "Video Manager" called Live Events.
4. In Live Events Create a "New live Outcome"
5. On the New Live Event page fill out the information as you would with a normal video.

16. At present OBS is prepare to stream to youtube. So first the stream.
III. Going Alive on Youtube

Pretty sure my settings are for 720P. Why do I get this :

You lot streaming with VBR? I'd probably turn on CBR or something to keep the bitrate up, otherwise the bitrate might get downwards during lulls in motility, and may trigger that. Approximate they don't like VBR either.

Also brand sure in settings > avant-garde > Custom x264 Encoder Settings yous add the following:
profile=chief keyint=lx

Do you really need contour=master? I've seen people successfully stream to YouTube with simply the keyint gear up, but I could be wrong.

It tin can work with profile High, but Main is recommended by YouTube. Encounter link beneath. Look for "Encoder settings - H.264, Primary 4.1".

FYI, in the newest versions of OBS, yous can set keyframe interval and x264 profile in Advanced settings, without entering in custom x264 parameters.

I guess I should have answered here as it's more appropriate. Merely I'm trying this for several days now and the only matter I get from youtube is a black screen. Followed the exact steps here and still, black screen. I don't undestand. Does it have anything to do with silverlight ? Practice I demand a special encoder in obs ? Practise i demand to turn aero off ?

Black screen can be caused by a number of issues. You should create a new forum post in the Questions and Help section and include a log.

Is there an updated guide to how to stream with OBS?
I tin't seem to first with this guide at to the lowest degree, and Xsplit makes this easy to do, which is quite, unlike.
I have the stream name in fundamental field, put the =60 in avant-garde, just can't seem to get my stream showing other than the Starting Soon text.

You need to update your guide. You do not need to be a partner to stream to youtube. You fifty-fifty get free transcoding. In fact, I am live right now, and have only 2 subscribers.

You are writing in the Archive section, as the name states, these guides might be old and outdated, hence we just go on them in our Annal :)
This oftentimes, non always, means the guide wont exist updated anymore. Shirin seems to take last been online in 2014. So I wouldnt await any updates.

Hey guys 'northward gals, first time here and a new user...
Beginning, thanks a ton to the author of this guide!
I seem to be having trouble using this to stream to a Youtube Live event.
I keep getting the mistake: Could non connect to server...the connection times out...try a dissimilar server or check that the connection is not existence blocked past a firewall or other security software (10060).
In Settings (streaming service), I've tried using both the Youtube drop down AND the custom version entering in the required information in the associated fields (stream key for the Youtube option, and both the stream key and primary FMS server URL under the Custom option)...
In either instance, when I click Starting time streaming, at that place is no activity (no frames or kb/south data)...and it merely keeps timing out with this error message.
I am stumped. I take also temporarily disabled my Norton Firewall just to be certain.
Any help or insight here would be super fantastic...I'chiliad thinking information technology might be (or promise that it is) something extremely easy, uncomplicated and only plain disregarded!
